Manchester United want blisteringly quick duo – report

Manchester United are in yet another battle with fierce rivals Manchester City – and this time it’s for the services of Tottenham duo Kyle Walker and Danny Rose.

That’s according to British media outlet, The Sun, who report:

Manchester United and Manchester City both target Kyle Walker and Danny Rose in £60m transfer battle for Tottenham duo.

The duo only recently signed new contracts with Tottenham so, even if the club were prepared to sell, Manchester United would have to stump up an awful lot of money for their services.

But any substance in this tale may come from the fact that Manchester United are not exactly settled in the full back areas.

Antonio Valencia has been in his best form since he converted to right back from the wing but he is getting toward veteran status and regularly struggles to beat his man and deliver a top final ball. As for the left side Jose Mourinho has used the likes of Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind out there.

Luke Shaw is the obvious choice for left-back but is seemingly yet to gain the trust of the new manager and that has led to uncertainty over his future.

Rose and Walker have been two of the stand out players in the Premier League this season. They have have been a constant thorn in the side of opponents with their pace and penetration down the wings. And they have both proven over the last year in particular that they can also be so0lid defenders.

Manchester United fans: are they the answer in the wide areas?
