If Jose Mourinho is looking to curry favour with those who felt he was wrong for the Manchester United job then he could do a lot worse than to bring in one of the best players in the world this summer. And the highly respected British media outlet The Times suggests today that Jose wants Paul Pogba, who has informally been placed on the transfer list at Juventus.
Jose targets Pogba to stiffen United’s spine
Jose Mourinho is working on reinforcing the spine of Manchester United’s first team with three elite-level signings. United’s new manager has been promised “complete backing” from vice-chairman Ed Woodward…
In what is seen as one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s biggest and few mistakes, Pogba was allowed to leave Manchester United in 2012 for what amounted to peanuts in the football world.
He has gone on to become a superstar at club and international level, with a Champions League final and three Scudettos under his belt at the tender age of 23.
Pogba has scored 5 goals in 29 games for France and is expected to be one of the stars of the show at EURO 2016 this summer. He’s also hit 34 in 185 club games.
With so many clubs apparently interested in signing Pogba this summer could be pivotal in his career. There will be fierce competition but there is a sense that Mourinho’s presence at Old Trafford can only strengthen the allure of signing for the club.
Here are some of his better moments for Manchester United. United fans – is he worth the massive price tag?
