Manchester United’s big money double raid?

There is going to be a lot of talk about Gareth Bale to Manchester United this summer. But perhaps a more realistic target for the right wing would be Brazil’s Willian. He clearly had a good relationship with Manchester United manager José Mourinho while the Portuguese was at Chelsea and it’s no secret that Mourinho is a big fan.

And with so much turbulence at Chelsea right now perhaps it’s a good time for Manchester United to make a move. At 29 William is coming towards the back end of his career and that will possibly concern some Manchester United fans. But he would be able to give at least two top seasons to the club. The indefatigable Brazilian gets up and down the line almost effortlessly and offers real pace and attacking threat as well as end product. There have been rumours of informal talks already having taken place for what would seem to be a very low risk signing.

Meanwhile Manchester United are also being continually linked with Fred. The Shaktar Donetsk midfielder seemed close to a move last week but he’s has recently stated that he may wait until after the World Cup to make a decision.

Transfer Talk: Man Utd to swoop for Fred and Willian?

With Fabinho signing for Liverpool this week it appears even more likely that Manchester United will try to get this deal over the line as soon as possible to increment the quality of their engine room. The club had been linked with Monaco utility man but, having moved to Liverpool, Fred could well be Manchester United main defensive midfield target.
