Rose has a strong coaching pedigree

The 49-year-old has a strong coaching pedigree, and appointing him is something of a coup for the south coast club. The highly-rated tactician first rose to prominence as a coach in his homeland with Red Bull Salzburg, taking the Austrian team to the Europa League quarter-finals before a switch to neighbouring Germany to manage Monchengladbach.
Once again, Rose impressed with his managerial acumen, guiding the Foals to a fourth-place Bundesliga finish and qualification for the Champions League in the 2019/20 season.
He guided Gladbach to qualification for the knockout stages of European football’s elite competition, only to be eliminated by Manchester City in the knockout stages.
Rose’s performance as Monchengladbach boss was always likely to attract attention at the more high-profile clubs. In February of 2021, it was announced that he would join Borussia Dortmund the following summer.
At BVB, Rose guided his team to a second-place finish in the Bundesliga, but the team failed to make it out of their Champions League group. He left the club after just one season.
He wasn’t out of work long, though, as he joined RB Leipzig, where he enjoyed a three-year spell, guiding Die Roten Bullen to the DFB Pokal in 2023, his first trophy as a coach. Despite winning the trophy, the German club sacked Rose in March 2025.
Fits the Bournemouth mould

Bournemouth have achieved stability by maintaining a degree of continuity in their managerial appointments, choosing head coaches who prefer to play an attacking, exciting style of football.
Rose very much fits that mould, as the Austrian has stated that he likes his team to play fast, dynamic football. The Bournemouth squad’s make-up suits the Austrian’s style of football.
