Manchester United midfielder Casemiro could be set to head to the MLS this summer, with Inter Miami and LA Galaxy two of the favourites to sign the outgoing midfielder. In fact, reports suggest the Brazilian’s agent is set for talks with the former.

Casemiro is leaving this summer

The 34-year-old will leave Manchester United this summer with his contract set to end, despite playing a key role in the Red Devils’ revival under interim head coach Michael Carrick. His performances have helped United qualify for the Champions League.

Not only has he produced the combative displays he has throughout his career, but he has also scored 9 times in the Premier League and recorded 2 assists.

His stellar form has led to calls for the Brazilian star to extend his s

ay in Manchester, but he has been steadfast in his desire to experience a new challenge next season after four years with United.

The MLS salary cap complicates Inter Miami move

The US top-flight has become home to many veteran football stars, with the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez currently plying their trade in the MLS with Inter Miami. French World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann is also heading to Orlando City when his contract with Atletico Madrid expires in the summer.

However, the presence of Messi and Suarez in Miami could complicate a deal for Casemiro, as the Floridian team already has three designated players and would be unable to bring in another. Casemiro could still join Inter Miami, but it would mean taking a massive pay cut.

LA Galaxy is touted as another possible destination for the Brazilian if he still wishes to head to the MLS this summer. However, he may face the same salary problem in LA, as the Galaxy already has three designated players, Gabriel Pec, Riqui Puig and Klauss.

The Saudi Pro League would be an alternative option for Casemiro, and he is unlikely to need to take a pay cut to head to the Middle East.
