More Sergio Ramos to Manchester United rumours

Ramos - In demand

It has been one of the transfer stories of the summer so far and it shows no sign of abating.

Sergio Ramos seems to particularly unhappy with the treatment meted out by his bosses at Real Madrid and abundant reports have suggested that he wants to leave the club for Manchester United this summer.

The trail went cold for some time as Real Madrid dug their heels in and seemingly wanted him to stay at the club beyond this summer.

But the latest rumour is that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants Ramos out. That is according to an interview given on Radio Marca this afternoon in which sports journalist Pablo García Cuervo is quoted as saying:

“Sergio has made his mind up. Florentino also wants Sergio to leave, but Real Madrid want it to seem like Sergio is the one who wants to leave because he isn’t very ‘madridista'”

“If Florentino Pérez wanted to keep Casillas, he hid it very well. The same is happening with Ramos”.

It’s quite some claim but Radio Marca are known to have strong affiliations with Real Madrid.

When this story initially broke we assumed that the player was simply threatening to leave in order to negotiate a better contract for himself at Madrid.

But as the summer has worn on it seems increasingly likely that the player does want to move to Manchester United.

Ramos joined Madrid in 2005 from Sevilla as a teenager.

He has gone on to become one of the most decorated players in Los Blancos’ history with 445 games and 55 goals under his belt.

He’s lifted The Champions League trophy, won three La Liga titles and 2 Copa del Rey medals.

He is currently the captain of Real Madrid and has 128 caps for Spain. His departure would be of huge significance to both Manchester United and Real Madrid.
