New Link: Manchester United ready £79m playmaker bid – report

With all this talk of Paul Pogba moving to Manchester United for a huge amount of money it easy to forget that there are actually some other great playmakers out there.

But it is a fact not lost on Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho who, according to reports in Italy, is ready to make a bid of £79 million for the services of Marco Verratti.

Because respected Italian news media outlet Corriere Dello Sport (via The Daily Star) reckons that Manchester United are interested in taking the brilliant Italian International to Old Trafford this summer.

Man United ready to offer Paris St-Germain £79m for Marco Verratti – report

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly ready to launch a massive bid for Paris St-Germain star Marco Verratti.

You have to imagine that there will be a stellar purchase coming to the club this summer and Pogba may just be out of reach with Real Madrid also perhaps keen.

Manchester United’s job is of course made more difficult by the fact that they won’t be competing in The Champions League next season but the allure of Jose Mourinho and the promise of being part of a great project could interest Verratti.

The diminutive 23-year-old, who stands at just five 5’5″, has been at French giants Paris St. Germain since his move in 2012.

He’s played 157 times for the club and scored three goals. Despite that small return in goals he has been seen as a big success in Paris and is a fan favourite.

He is a player with wonderful technique and real composure who, at 23, has 10 years left on the very top.

Sadly we won’t see Marco Verratti at Euro 2016 as injury has prevented his participation. The midfielder has a hernia problem which will keep him out of the game for two months.

Here are some of his best moments in France. Manchester United supporters, do you think this would be a worthwhile use of the transfer funds?
