Newcastle United are interested in signing Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson this summer, with an initial loan move mooted, along with a potential permanent move.

Jackson is on loan at German behemoths Bayern Munich this season, with a view to a permanent £56.2million move if certain conditions are met. However, those conditions have not been met, and Bayern will not choose to activate the permanent transfer.
A lack of minutes obstructed permanent transfer

The forward was always going to find minutes hard to come by at Bayern, as he arrived essentially as back-up to England captain Harry Kane. He has made just 10 Bundesliga starts and 10 substitute appearances, scoring seven goals.
His lack of playing time will see Jackson return to Chelsea this summer, but the Blues are looking to offload the striker, preferably on a permanent basis. A loan deal with a built-in obligation to complete the deal could persuade the south-west London club to allow Jackson to leave.
Magpies are interested in signing Jackson

Newcastle could now make a summer swoop for the 24-year-old forward, as the Magpies look to overhaul their attacking options.
The north east club spent big in the summer, signing Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart and Yoane Wissa from Brentford to fill the void left by the summer departure of Alexander Isak to Liverpool.
However, neither Woltemade nor Wissa have convinced this season. Woltemade has scored seven goals in 30 Premier League appearances, while Wissa has scored just once in the English top-flight.
The latter has started just four games for the north east team this season, and made 11 appearances, mainly due to injury.
United could part company with at least one of the pair, if not both, this summer, as they attempt to reconfigure their attacking options.
Jackson showed enough in his two seasons at Chelsea to suggest he could produce a respectable goal contribution when given the chance, scoring 24 goals and producing ten assists in 59 appearances.
There is likely to be other clubs interested in signing Jackson this summer, so Newcastle could face competition for the forward’s signing.
