EURO 2016 star favours Chelsea move

Chelsea appear to have stolen a march on their rivals by jumping to the head of the queue to sign the brilliant Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante.

British media outlet, The Daily Telegraph, reports:

N’Golo Kante is poised to turn down a new contract at Leicester City and favours a move to Chelsea over his numerous summer options.

Midfielder Kante is emerging as one of Chelsea’s top targets after the Blues failed with two bids for Roma’s Radja Nainggolan.

The report states that Chelsea, Juventus, Manchester United and Arsenal are all keen to take the Frenchman this summer.

The 25-year-old has shot to stardom over the last year after a move from French minnows Caen. He was a virtual ever-present for Leicester last season as they stunned the football establishment with a title triumph.

He made 40 appearances for Leicester and scored the solitary goal. But his performances were marked by tireless running and superb cover for his defence as well as a great range of passing.

His form didn’t go unnoticed at international level either. After his debut against Russia at the end of March he forced his way into the national side for EURO 2016 and has been as important as any player in Les Blues attempted march towards the trophy.

He’s a fantastic player and, at 25, he’s tailor-made for The Premier League. He would offer the sort of energy which Chelsea’s midfield has perhaps lacked over the last year as Obi Mikel, Matic and Fabregas have been off the pace. Meanwhile Brazilian midfielder Ramires left for China in a big money deal in January.

Let’s see some of Kante’s better moments for Leicester. Chelsea fans: a wise signing?
