Considering the ridiculous size of his transfer fee, Paul Pogba was always going to have a difficult start to his Manchester United career part two.
Because, for that sort of money, some were disappointed that he wasn’t able to levitate.
His lack of regular partner in the midfield also hindered his progress and he looked like a lost child at times in the early weeks of his United return.
But the addition of Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick, in what has become a 4-3-3 at Manchester United, has made all the difference.
Slowly Pogba has started to bring his A-game to the plate.
Now, after three months or so the Frenchman looks at home at Manchester United. The 70 yard passes are hitting their targets. The clever flicks over defences are working and, every time Pogba gets the ball, there is a genuine sense that something special is going to happen.
Part of the reason that he cost so much was that he’s only 23 years of age. There is so much improvement to come from him over the next few years under Jose Mourinho.
But most clubs in the league are beginning to look enviously over to Old Trafford where a superstar is blossoming.
Pogba is starting to run games for Manchester United from the midfield.
Manchester United fans – is he now at the level you expect or are you still disappointed by the Frenchman?
