Preferred Destination: Manchester United willing to offer 140m Euros for world class talent

Latest reports in Spain suggest that Manchester United will offer 140m Euros for the man who won Real Madrid the Champions League. No, not Loris Karius. Gareth Bale.

Spanish media outlet, AS, reports:

Además del United, que está dispuesto a ofrecer 140 millones de euros al Madrid, otro equipo de la Premier y el Bayern también están interesados en fichar al galés.

In addition to United, which is willing to offer 140 million euros to Madrid, another team from the Premier and Bayern are also interested in signing the Welshman.

Meanwhile, British media outlet, The Independent reports that the player favours a move to Old Trafford if he does leave El Bernabeu this summer. They say:

The link between Manchester United and Bale has long existed, with the player now said to see Old Trafford as a preferred destination.

Bale has suffered injury this term and been in and out of the side but has still hit 21 goals including those all important match winners in Kiev at the weekend.

Those goals will surely have added to his transfer fee. And many think that Manchester United’s transfer business is too obvious and not creative enough in finding young jewels.

But the truth is that any club in the world would want him in their squad and United are one of the very few who could afford him.

Bale’s stats are excellent and at 28 he still has some of the best years of his career ahead of him.

He’s hit 29 goals in 70 games for Wales and scored 148 goals in 437 appearances for Real Madrid over the last 5 years.

But it feels increasingly as if it’s the end of an era at Madrid and that Bale may just be tempted to come and finish his career by dominating England with Manchester United.
