Premier League predictions: Manchester United to make up ground on the leading pack?

What a truly fascinating run-in we are gearing up for in The Premier League.

Most seasons start with predictions of a tight title tussle and a last minute winner but, in practice, they rarely materialise.

But who is going to take this one? Hey? Who? TFF is finding it increasingly difficult to call but we are currently hovering between Tottenham and Manchester City.

Leicester are magnificent. They have a super Premier League formula and if they keep their team fit they could become the most popular winners of all time.

Manchester City are on the wobble but more capable than anyone of putting a run together.

Arsenal look stronger than at any time in recent years and Tottenham are TFF’s official dark horses. Furthermore, with 13 rounds yet to come, Manchester United can still bring themselves back into contention. But they need to capitalise this weekend if the other contenders draw. Here is how we see things panning out.

SATURDAY 13TH FEBRUARY 2016 – THE PREMIER LEAGUE

Sunderland v Manchester United 12:45

With several contenders playing each other this weekend Manchester United simply can’t afford to drop any points. If they do, it’s all over for the title and top four will also be a distant prospect.

PREDICTION: Sunderland 1 – Manchester United 2

Bournemouth v Stoke 15:00

Stoke are as dangerous as ever but in a different way. Now they play with flair and swagger. But a win could depend on the form and fitness of Marko Arnautovic.

Bournemouth 1 – Stoke 1

Crystal Palace v Watford 15:00

Palace have slowed to a canter of late but will still give anyone a game.

Crystal Palace 2 – Watford 1

Everton v West Brom 15:00

What to expect from the unpredictable Everton? A win this weekend we think.

Everton 2 – West Brom 0

Norwich v West Ham 15:00

West Ham are proving one of the surprise packages of the season with some rousing performances. But they played a big game in midweek.

Norwich 2 – West Ham 2

Swansea v Southampton 15:00

Southampton are rejuvenated with four wins and a draw (against Arsenal away) in their last 5 in the league.

Swansea 1 – Southampton 2

Chelsea v Newcastle 17:30

Chelsea have recently contracted Manchester United’s drawing illness. But they may squeeze this one.

Chelsea 2 – Newcastle 1

SUNDAY 14th FEBRUARY 2016 – THE PREMIER LEAGUE

Arsenal v Leicester 12:00

A must-watch game at The Emirates this Sunday. After Leicester beat Manchester City on their own turf last weekend anything is possible for The Foxes. But Arsenal may shade this one with home advantage.

Arsenal 1 – Leicester 0

Aston Villa v Liverpool 14:05

Liverpool will be tired after extra-time in the week but also pretty annoyed at having lost. And they have so much quality despite their flaws.

Aston Villa 1 – Liverpool 2

Manchester City v Tottenham 16:15

The game of the weekend? If Tottenham come away with a draw they may feel that they have a serious chance of the title.

Manchester City 1 – Tottenham 1
