French giants and European champions PSG have now joined the ranks of admirers for West Ham’s Portuguese midfielder Mateus Fernandes. The Parisians are reportedly keeping tabs on the youngster.
Fernandes has been a big hit with the Hammers

The 21-year-old has been one of the few impressive players in a disappointing campaign for West Ham, who head into the final two games of the season fighting for their top-flight survival.
Fernandes joined the Hammers from Southampton for a fee of £38m late in the 2025 summer transfer window. The Portugal international has since scored five goals and also produced four assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for the east London club.
His decent form hasn’t gone unnoticed as Fernandes earned his first international cap in April, coming on as a substitute for namesake Bruno Fernandes in a 2-0 win over the USA.
Fernandes is now hot property

He didn’t just catch the eye of the Portuguese international set-up, though, as his performances in the English top-flight have seemingly made Fernandes hot property this summer.
Premier League Arsenal and Manchester United have already reportedly shown an interest in the young midfielder. However, PSG’s interest could well scupper the English duo’s plans of making a move for the midfielder.
The French giants could well prove to be a tempting option for the young midfielder. Luis Enrique has built an exciting young team. Fernandes would seemingly fit right into the Parisians’ squad. His only concern may be that he wouldn’t play regular first-team football, considering the quality and competition for places at the French club.
West Ham could suffer a mass exodus this summer
If West Ham suffers relegation this season, then Fernandes is unlikely to be the only player to leave the club. Fernandes may leave regardless of the Hammers’ status next season.
However, if the Hammers are demoted, reports suggest that the likes of Jarrod Bowen, El Malick Hadji Diouf and Crysencio Summerville could all seal big-money moves elsewhere, with clubs at home and abroad monitoring the trio’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
