The race for the signature of Bournemouth’s talented young French forward Eli Junior Kroupi is heating up. Premier League champions Arsenal are believed to be favourites to sign the 19-year-old this summer.
Reportedly, French and European champions PSG’s interest in the forward is now waning, although they could still hold an interest.
Arsenal are looking to strengthen their attack
The Gunners are looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer, despite spending big on bringing in Swedish forward Victor Gyokeres last summer.
Arsenal also has the versatile German international Kai Havertz. However, the Gunners are believed to be looking to sell former Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus this summer.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a £20m switch to Everton this summer after playing a bit-part role in Arsenal’s success last season.
Kroupi looks like he could be an ideal addition to the Arsenal squad. The 19-year-old has made an exciting start to his career in England, scoring 13 goals in his Premier League season, and still has significant scope to improve.
The Gunners and PSG have also been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez. However, the Argentinian international favours a move to Catalan giants Barcelona, although the Blaugrana are struggling to meet Atletico’s valuation of the player.
Kroupi would be considered a younger and cheaper option than Alvarez, who has a reported asking price of around £110m.

Arsenal could well face more competition for Kroupi’s services from Liverpool after the Reds appointed former Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola.
The Spaniard is believed to be a big fan of the young Frenchman, having helped the youngster develop at his former club.
The Reds are likely to be looking for attacking additions to their squad with club legend Mohamed Salah leaving the Merseyside club as a free agent this summer.
