Real Madrid to sign another Galactico?

Real Madrid have been a very settled side of late and not least because of the transfer ban that has been imposed on them. But that ban has being reduced to just one window which leaves them free to sign more players next summer.

And one of the few areas where Real Madrid might be able to improve their side is in between the sticks.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was of course very close to signing for Los Blancos last summer and, but for an administrative oversight, he would be a Real Madrid player right now.

But he does seem more settled under new United manager Jose Mourinho so the Spanish club may have to look elsewhere for their next top stopper.

Latest reports in Spain suggest that that it could be Chelsea’s superb number one Thibaut Courtois.

Respected Spanish media outlet, Marca, reports:

Former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is on course for a permanent move to Real Madrid.

The report states that the player has made it clear in the past that he wants to move to La Liga and Real Madrid would obviously snap him up given the chance.

At just 24 years of age he has already played 45 games for a golden generation Belgium side, while also having represented two of the top sides in Europe – Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.

He has played for both clubs with honours and sometimes looks impossible to meet with his long, wirey frame and excellent ball handling skills.

It’s one of the few areas of the team where Zinedine Zidane could really improve and we think Courtois would be a superb signing for Real Madrid.
