Great news for Real Madrid?

If TFF was partial to any team which housed James Rodriguez they would want him to stay.

But there has been a constant swell of rumour about the Columbian international potentially leaving Real Madrid as he hasn’t been able to nail down a place in the side of late, after a stunning start to his career at the club.

He has to be one of the most often linked players in Europe right now and there will surely be a glut of clubs who are prepared to pay big money for him should he decide to leave.

But in the most categoric statement of intent yet his agent Jorge Mendes has stated clearly that the player will not be going anywhere in January.

He is quoted as saying:

“James will not leave in January.”

The 52 Columbia international had a great first season for Real Madrid off the back of the World Cup in 2014 in which he made his name on the international stage.

But in Real Madrid’s current system he hasn’t been getting as many minutes as he would have liked and he looks frustrated by his current plight.

The report states that the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have been or are keen and a move must have crossed the mind of the player in the darker periods of the last year.

But perhaps this latest statement from his representative means he will get his head down and start playing the best football again for Real Madrid over the next six months before reassessing his future again in the summer.

What is for sure is that there will be no lack of interest in the player if he does decide to leave in future.

Real Madrid fans – are you please that he’s not leaving?
