Deal Agreed: Real Madrid make summer signing according to player himself

Real Madrid’s summer transfer business has seemingly gone up a notch with the signing of young forward Sergio Diaz.

Sky Sports wrote on Monday:

Paraguayan starlet Sergio Diaz has confirmed his move to Real Madrid.

And the player himself took to Instagram as he was clearly unable to conceal his delight for one moment longer:

“I will give everything for the club that I’ve always wanted to play for, and now they’ve given me this great opportunity. Thank you.”

The initial fee for the services of the player are reportedly around €5m for an 18-year-old with great promise. But there are likely to be several major performance-related add-ons as part of the transfer.

The playmaker comes from Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno where he made 70 appearances and scored 16 goals.

While he hasn’t yet represented Paraguay at senior international level he has played all the way through the youth ranks, scoring 7 goals in 22 games for the U17, U20 and U23 sides.

The player also said on Instagram:

“I must also thank my new club Real Madrid for trusting me and giving me a great opportunity to show my game in Europe.”

Let’s see some of his better moments in his young career so far. Real Madrid fans – can you see Diaz sticking around and getting some game time at El Bernabeu next season or will he be sent out on loan to gain experience?
