Manchester United: Winger intrigued by transfer

Manchester United star Memphis Depay could join Everton in January as Jose Mourinho continues his root and branch overhaul of the playing staff at the club.

That’s according to the Daily Mail who report that Everton will up the ante with a move for the player after losing Yannick Bolasie to a cruciate ligament injury which will require surgery.

They say:

Everton’s efforts to land Memphis Depay will intensify next month after Yannick Bolasie’s devastating season-ending blow.

Sportsmail understands the 22-year-old has knuckled down in training in a bid to prove his manager wrong but is intrigued by a potential switch to Goodison Park.

Depay has only managed 20 minutes of league action this season in what has been a monumentally disappointing Manchester United career.

The Dutchman arrived with much hype and TFF was among those cooing about him coming to Old Trafford. But his progress has been stymied by poor form and inconsistency under both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

The frustrating thing for Manchester United is that this guy could move to Everton and explode into life. His pace, power and technique sporadically astounds but he doesn’t seem to be able to control or channel his fleeting genius.

Manchester United signed the 22-year-old in the summer of 2015 for around £25m and he has since made 52 appearances and scored 7 goals. At international level Depay has scored 5 goals in 27 games since his Holland debut in 2013.

Let’s see some of his better moments at Old Trafford. Manchester United fans: keep or sell?
