Report – Spurs would be ready to bid £44million to agree signing

Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur did not reinforce their squad in the summer transfer window but reports suggest that they could be ready to strengthen the team in the winter transfer window.

As per the latest reports going on in the media, the north Londoners are interested in signing Brazilian international and Barcelona playmaker Malcom.

According to Sport, Spurs, who did not spend a single euro in the summer, would be ready to bid 50 million euros (£44million) to sign the Samba attacker in the winter window.

The Spanish outlet have stated that the likes of Inter Milan and Arsenal are also interested in luring the South American, who finds himself in a complicated situation at the Nou Camp.

Malcom joined Barca in the summer transfer window and so far, he has not started a single game and played for just 25 minutes in all competitions. Valverde used the former Ligue 1 player for 19 odd minutes against Leganes back in September but after that, the manager has not even selected him in his match day squads.

Last season, the 21-year-old made 32 starts for Bordeaux and directly contributed in 19 goals (12 goals and 7 assists). The speedy winger needs to leave Barca for regular first team football and a move to the Premier League could help.

As far as Spurs are concerned, Pochetttino needs to improve the quality and depth of his team and Malcom would be a top addition.
