Even if a deal doesn’t quite come off, there has been so much rumour about this one that TFF can only imagine there is some substance to the story.
It’s also difficult to imagine that a club of Manchester United’s size and squad profile wouldn’t be interested in the services of Antoine Griezmann.
And the Frenchman has been linked again today by respected British media outlet, The Independent, which reports:
Atletico are almost certain to revive their summer interest in their former player, to replace Antoine Griezmann, who is widely expected to move to Manchester United in the summer.
Manchester United look great in most areas of their squad. But the likes of Michael Carrick, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan will need to be replaced in the not too distant future by stars of similar quality.
And Griezmann is that man. To put it as simply as possible the Frenchman does the most important thing in football brilliantly – namely scoring goals regardless of the opponent.
He has that rare ability at club and national level and his scoring feats are spectacular.
Originally a winger Griezmann offers the sort of cutting edge that Manchester United have often lacked and his stats are those of a top tier player.
Just 5ft 9in he has scored 14 in 39 for France since his debut in 2014. The 25-year-old also has 69 in 132 games for Atletico over the course of the last two and a half seasons. With 121 goals in 333 games his scoring ratio has dramatically increased since his move inside and he looks like one of those few players in world football who could guarantee goals in years to come.
TFF thinks that, with the service on offer, he could become a goal a game player at Manchester United in the coming years.
Manchester United fans: the ideal addition?
