Rumour: Arsenal prepared to pay striker £144,000 per week

With Danny Welbeck’s fitness a doubt and Olivier Giroud flattering to decieve in the biggest games, Arsenal will surely look for another top striker this summer.

And rumours in Spain suggest that Arsenal are prepared to pay Alvaro Morata £144,000 a week in wages in order to join them this summer.

Spanish media outlet Don Balon states (via BBC):

Arsenal are ready to offer Real Madrid’s Spain forward Alvaro Morata, 23, £144,000 a week to move to Emirates Stadium. (Don Balon – in Spanish)

Morata is seemingly in high demand after another excellent season at Juventus. Real Madrid exercised their buy back option but the general consensus is that they will offload him again to the highest bidder.

And England seems the most likely destination according to the press.

Morata hasn’t been a prolific goalscorer so far in his career with 83 in 228 club games.

But he’s still only 23 and that ratio will improve. Furthermore Morata’s all round game is excellent and he seems to get into the right positons to score in some of the major games.

Morata has the look of a big-game player and that is exactly what Arsenal need if they are to push on to the next level of winning the major silverware.

Morata has 6 goals in 13 games for Spain and has the physique and pace to be a big success in England.

Let’s see some of his best moments in his early career. Arsenal fans: is he the solution and a step up form Giroud?
