Rumour: Club needs to sell Manchester United target to balance books

Manchester United may have a slightly easier route if they want to sign the brilliant 28-year-old winger Ivan Perisic this summer as his club may need to sell.

British media outlet, the Daily Express, passes this one on from Italian TV station Sports Mediaset:

MANCHESTER UNITED may be gifted the chance to sign Ivan Perisic because of Inter Milan’s financial constraints, according to reports.

The 6’1″ forward who was born in Split Yugoslavia has been a consistent threat in the Italian league over the last few years. He’s a really composed and confident player who is no-frills but gets the job done. He’s a very direct footballer who puts the ball on a plate for his centre forwards more often than not. He strong, quick and has a definite football brain.

Manchester united desperately need more cutting edge up top and the likes of Anthony Martial and Juan Mata haven’t provided enough of it this season. It’s a big mystery as to who will go and who will arrive at the club this summer but Manchester United are sure to spend big money again.

Perisic is a seasoned international who ticks all the boxes for Old Trafford success.

He’s played in Germany, Italy, France and Belgium and also played 56 times for his country Croatia scoring 16 goals in the process.

At his most recent club, Inter, he scored 20 goals and 79 appearances over the last two seasons and been an ever present and virtually always fit.
