Rumours in Spain suggest that Chelsea have made a big bid for the services of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The 24-year-old Spain striker has a decent strike rate for Real Madrid since his return from Juventus in the summer with 12 goals in 30 appearances.
But that hasn’t stopped the speculation about a move with the BBC passing this on in their gossip column this morning:
Chelsea have submitted a £34m bid for Real Madrid and Spain striker Alvaro Morata, 24. (Diario Gol – in Spanish)
With the future of Diego Costa up in the air a move for Morata would seem to make sense. He is also a strong target man who holds the ball up well with his back to goal, brings others in to play and has great movement and a natural eye for goal.
Latest tabloid reports continue to suggest that Costa could move to China this summer for as much as £38m a year in wages.
In other news Chelsea’s new striker Michy Batshuayi could also be on his way according to reports in some areas of the press.
British media outlet, The Daily Mirror, reports that the player signed for £33m last summer may be sold in the next transfer window.
Chelsea ready to ditch Michy Batshuayi just 1 year after arriving in £33m transfer
The report points to the fact that the striker has only made one start in the Premier League this season and wasn’t even selected for a start when Costa was injured earlier in the season. This may suggest that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte isn’t too keen on the style of the live wire striker.
