‘Rumours’: Tottenham star opens up about interest from other clubs

One of the creative hubs of Tottenham Hotspur over the last few seasons has been the brilliant Christian Eriksen.

TFF can’t believe that he is still only 25 years of age because he seems to have been around forever.

And he’s become like a piece of the furniture at Tottenham over the last few years as he makes the side tick and offers constant attacking threat in that effortless fashion of his.

But there have been regular rumours of interest from Spanish giants Barcelona and Eriksen has spoken about this in the latest news cycle.

The Independent passes this one on from Scandinavian publication Ekstra Bladet.

“There are always rumours about footballers, but Barcelona are a great club and I don’t think there are many who say no to Barcelona.”

He certainly appears to have the technique for a club like Barcelona and perhaps the rumours linking recent rumors linking Tottenham to remove the Douglas Costa are because of their concerns about potentially losing Eriksen this summer.

But he does seem settled at the club and has had a stellar career at Tottenham so far.

Overall he’s scored 42 goals in 179 games for the club and had a particularly good last season scoring 12 goals in 48 games and really pulling the strings for the North London outfit.

He’s adaptable and has a brilliant football mind and he would be a big loss for Tottenham if they were to lose him this summer.

But you sense that there is a rebuild going on Barcelona and Eriksen has the same sort of talent as a player like Iniesta in terms of being able to spot key passes and work between the lines brilliantly.
