Manchester United legend could leave the club – report

Any notion that Manchester United do their business quickly and quietly disappeared when Ed Woodward took charge of the club in the summer of 2013.

So it won’t be the first time you have heard the rumour that Ryan Giggs could leave Manchester United this summer.

The latest story goes that if Jose Mourinho is appointed as head coach then Giggs will look elsewhere for experience.

The Mirror states:

Ryan Giggs to QUIT Manchester United if Jose Mourinho is appointed as Louis van Gaal’s successor

We think that Jose Mourinho would be the perfect boss to give Giggs his final tutorial in management before he goes out on his own. You surely couldn’t get a much better football education than from Sir Alex, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

Yet there is a continued sense that Giggs wants to be the top man sooner rather than later. And while the fans would certainly get behind the Welsh legend should he be given the reins at Manchester United there is a general apprehension about whether a man with so little front line experience would be the right choice to take the club forward at this point.

After another really poor season for Manchester United they find themselves in the exceedingly fortunate position of only having to win their last two games to qualify for next season’s Champions League. So Louis van Gaal can have few excuses if he stares this gift horse in the mouth.

If Van Gaal does guide Manchester United to two victories then the management status quo could well stay intact for the next year.
