Manchester City fans will be particularly satisfied with the last day of the season for more than one reason. Not only did City hammer their opponents to confirm their place in next season’s Champions League. But there was more news concerning their star man Sergio Aguero. British media outlet, the Independent, reports:
Pep Guardiola and Sergio Aguero confirm striker is staying at Man City
And despite Aguero’s role in the team coming under scrutiny this season, Guardiola confirmed briefly in his press conference that Aguero would be staying at the Etihad Stadium.
Since the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, as well as lots of hype about other attacking signings, the future of Aguero has been up in the air. He also missed a few games earlier in the season when fit. Some observers think that Guardiola prefers more mobile strikers rather than simple finishers. But few if any Manchester City fans would want to relinquish the services of Aguero who has been absolutely sensational in his six years at the club.
The Argentine has scored 169 goals in just 253 appearances from Manchester City in the most successful period of their history.
TFF struggles to think of a better finisher in Premier League history as this is a player who can score goals from any angle or distance.
He has also hit 33 goals in 82 games for Argentina in what has been a solid and prolific career. Still only 28 years of age, Manchester city fans will surely agree that Aguero has several years left at the top level and they wouldn’t want him anywhere else but at Eastlands.
TFF still believes that he and Gabriel Jesus can form a devastating partnership, perhaps as part of the fluid front three next season.
City fans – is the Argentine the future of the club or should you be cashing in whilst he is still worth a huge amount of cash?
