Southampton linked with another major signing

Southampton have been regarded as a selling club way too often for the liking of most of their fans.

But they have made some substantial purchases of late too and another major signing could be in the offing according to latest reports.

British media outlet, The Daily Star, reports that Southampton are keen to sign a highly rated midfield dynamo.

SOUTHAMPTON are lining up a January move for £16.7m-rated Valencia star Dani Parejo.

The 27-year-old 6ft tall midfielder was a sensation in his young career. He played 19 times for the Spain U21 side and scored an impressive 5 goals.

But his career trajectory levelled off a bit and he hasn’t yet represented the senior side.

But since his move to Valencia from Getafe for 6m Euros in 2009 he has slowly reasserted himself at the top of the game and played 199 games for the Spanish side, scoring 30 goals.

Southampton have found some stability again under new coach Claude Puel and they have been doing about their work with quiet efficiency.

But while their defence has been excellent again this season they could certainly use some more creativity at the business end of the park and Parejo could be a top signing for The Saints.

Southampton fans: A good investment or should you be concentrating on signing forwards in the winter window?
