After their close shave with relegation from the Premier League last season, Tottenham have already started their squad rebuild, as the north London club is close to completing a double swoop for Bournemouth’s Marco Senesi and Liverpool’s Andy Robertson.
Marco Senesi was a Player in Demand
The Argentinian international has impressed in his four years with Bournemouth on the English south coast after joining from Dutch giants Feyenoord in 2022. At 29 years of age, it seems the defender feels it’s the right time to move on, as his contract with the Cherries expires this summer.

Tottenham are not the only club interested in acquiring the defender’s services for next season. Spurs’ Premier League rivals Everton, Liverpool and Manchester United also showed an interest in the defender, while reportedly Spanish duo Atletico Madrid and Barcelona were also monitoring the centre-back’s situation in north London.
However, it seems that Senesi is close to completing his move to Tottenham. He will provide head coach Roberto De Zerbi with another option in the heart of a defence that has been shaky in recent seasons.
Robertson Set to Follow Senesi’s Lead
Like Senesi, Robertson will be a free agent when his contract expires this summer. The Scotland international has enjoyed a sensational nine seasons with Liverpool, winning, among other trophies, two Premier League titles and the Champions League in the 2018/19 season.
Ironically, the latter victory came when the Reds recorded a 2-0 final win over Tottenham.
The 32-year-old is set to captain Scotland at this summer’s World Cup. However, he is believed to be keen to sort out his future before he heads off to the tournament.

Many media outlets have been reporting that Robertson has had an agreement with Spurs for a few months. The north London outfit tried to sign the left-back in the January transfer window.
However, it seems that Tottenham’s patience has paid off, and despite interest from Italian giants Juventus, North London will be where he is heading this summer.
