Spurs are currently fourth in the PL table after 12 league games, five points behind league leaders Manchester City. On the other hand, they are third in their CL group behind Barca and Inter Milan and need a miracle to qualify for the KO stages of the competition.
Tottenham did not strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window and now, reports suggest that the north Londoners are ready to reinforce the team in the upcoming winter transfer window.
According to an exclusive report covered by The Sun, Spurs are set to move in with an offer of £35million to sign Italian international and Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

Pochettino has got midfielders like Winks, Dier, Wanyama and Dembele in his squad. However, Wanyama has mostly been on the treatment table this season and Dembele has recently suffered an ankle injury.
Therefore, the Argentine boss surely needs to sign a midfielder in January and 21-year-old Barella is a versatile player who can be deployed in multiple midfield positions. This season, he has scored one goal in 12 Serie A appearances.
As per The Sun, Pochettino is hoping that a bid worth £35million would be enough to sign the Azzurri midfielder but Spurs do face competition from Liverpool.
On the other hand, as reported by La Nuova Sardegna last month, Cagliari value their prized asset at around 50 million euros (£44million), so, a fee of £35million might not be enough to get the deal done.
