Konoplyanka linked to Liverpool transfer

It already feels as if this one has been dragging out interminably for Liverpool fans. In fact it’s only a few days since the rumour mill really ground into action about the potential transfer of Ukrainian star Yevhen Konoplyanka.

After the ultimately doomed pursuit of Chelsea winger Mohammed Salah Liverpool fans will not be getting ahead of themselves until this deal is official.

But we have a good feeling about this one – it looks like just a matter of time before the ‘t’s are crossed and the ‘i’s are dotted.

This afternoon The Metro reported that personal terms have been agreed for the transfer of the Ukrainian to Liverpool. While stopping short of stating that the deal had been done, it does appear that it is moving in the right direction.

The Metro says:

Yevhen Konoplyanka agrees terms with Liverpool ahead of deadline day transfer

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka after agreeing personal terms with the player.

It’s thought that Liverpool have offered him around £95,000-a-week to move to Anfield – and he’s provisionally accepted a five-year-contract plus signing on fee.

The report also suggests that Liverpool have made a big in the region of £16 million for the player. Perhaps it is the final fee which is still being haggled over – but it will be in this region.

Liverpool fans it looks like you will be getting that major signing after all. Do you think this guy is the man for the job at Anfield? Will you go straight into and improve the first team?

Let’s see some more footage of him in action.
