Talks Opened: Arsenal in transfer discussions to sign striker

The big question at Arsenal this summer is whether Arsene Wenger stays at the club or not. We tend to believe he’s going to get one more season and so his transfer program will remain intact. Latest reports suggest he may be in talks with a striker of real promise.

British media outlet, Sky Sports, reports:

Arsenal in talks to sign Henry Onyekuru from Belgian side KAS Eupen

The Nigerian is only 19 years of age but he’s had a massive impact on the Belgian league in his two seasons at the club.

He came into the side last season and made an immediate impact with six goals in 19 appearances for the club which forced him into the reckoning for this season.

And he really hit the ground running this term too, becoming a mainstay of the side and lethal weapon up top with a remarkable 25 goals in just 41 appearances for the club.

When he was fit he started and he looks like an excellent prospect. Obviously the Belgian league is not the perfect gauge as to whether someone will succeed in England. But Onyekuru does appear to have all the attributes to be a successful number nine at Arsenal in time.

He’s a big powerful lad but also has really good feet and excellent ground speed. He never stops running and looks like a player who is able to find space naturally. He scores all types of goals from long range shots to tap ins and looks as if he has the hunger to make the grade at Arsenal.

Arsenal fans – is this guy a really exciting prospect or just another player who will be shipped out on loan and never make the first team?
