Huge news for Manchester United today as British media outlet, The Sun, reports that the club have agreed terms with French International Antoine Griezmann to join the club in a bumper deal.
They write:
MANCHESTER UNITED have agreed personal terms with Antoine Griezmann, paving the way for his move to Old Trafford.
SunSport understands a five-year deal worth £280,000 a week has been accepted by the Atletico Madrid striker.
Griezmann’s team, Atletico Madrid, took a cuffing at the hands of Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi final this week and this has paved the way for the deal according to the report. And TFF senses that the result could turning out to mark a changing of the guard in general at the club as head coach Diego Simeone may also decide to assess his options.
Griezmann has had another superb season in La Liga with 25 goals in just 49 games for Madrid. Overall he’s scored 82 in 156 games for Madrid and 134 in 357 games in total during a career which he began as a winger.
Griezmann looks set to add the ruthless cutting edge and goals that Manchester United have been lacking over the last season and he can operate on either flank as well as at number 9. This gives Jose Mourinho and Manchester United options if they do keep Zlatan or even make a move for the sensational young Monaco striker, Kylian Mbappe.
Whatever happens TFF doesn’t expect this to be the last of the spending in what should be another really exciting summer in the transfer market.
Manchester United fans: would you prefer him or Mbappe?
