TFF Predicts – Everton versus Bournemouth

Bournemouth is currently vacating the 19th position on the table – which wouldn’t surprise anyone. Manager Eddie Howe collected three points in five games with his side. The relegation candidate already faced Manchester City and Arsenal with their next trip is being scheduled for the “blue part” of Liverpool. I’m talking about Everton of course. After five games, you would expect The Blues to be somewhere near the top-8. But not this season. Manager Ronald Koeman had an ridiculously tough schedule with the opponents being Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester City (and Stoke City).

Getting a mere four points out those fixtures isn’t surprisingly bad. But the world of football is extremely short-sighted in that perspective. The board of directors from Everton “gave Koeman time to things around”. Which things? They faced the complete top-4 of this season, when looking at the Premier League odds.  The next four games are all on Goodison Park – their own turf. I would brand all those four fixture “easy”. With Sunderland (League Cup), Bournemouth, Apollon (Europa League) and Burnley coming to visit their stadium. Despite their 5-loss-streak in all competitions – above named opponents shouldn’t be a problem and I think Everton will be victorious in all those encounters. And if they are still struggling immensely after these matches – than Koeman should worry for his employment.

Everton are without Ross Barkley, Yannick Bolasie and Ramiro Funes Muri in their direct confrontation with Bournemouth – while Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy are doubtful. Bournemouth will miss Callum Wilson. Junior Stanislas is doubtful. Still think Everton simply holds better players than their opponents. Players such as Wayne Rooney, Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Pickford and Gylfi Sigurdsson can decide games like these – all on their own way.

The bookmakers are underrating Everton due to their poor results lately, but haven’t calculated the strength of their opponents in. A mistake which happens rarely in such a big competition, but we gladly accept the gift form the bookmakers. Our betting tip will be Everton -0.75 for this fixture against Bournemouth. The odd for this TFF prediction revolves around 1.85.
