For years we have stated the Arsenal lack strength through the centre of their side. Whilst they’ve had wonderful creative players they haven’t always have the sort of gritty determined leaders that can drag them through games when they’re not playing at their best.
The likes of Tony Adams, Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell used to give Arsenal much more substance than they have had at times over the last few years.
But perhaps they have finally addressed those issues to some degree with the signings of the Mustafi, Xhaka and Coquelin.
We now see Arsenal as having enough physical strength to combat the toughest opponents. So perhaps now they need one more excellent creator. Someone to finish the job at the top end of the park and someone who has a similar sort of ruthlessness and quality to Alexis Sanchez.
If Arsenal could bring the young Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe to the club they would have a sensational front line next season. Because we believe that with Sanchez, Mbappe and Oxlade-Chamberlain in the wider areas they would be scoring another 20 goals a season which would give them a real chance of the title.
Not only that but in Mbappe they would have a player who could make a difference in a Champions League semi-final for example. Arsenal have a lot of good Premier League players but when it comes to the latter stages of the Champions League they don’t seem to have a real game changer.
Sanchez is a world-class player of course but if they could add another string to the bow – another point of attack – they would relieve the burden on Sanchez and be so much more difficult to stop.
So if Arsenal could only sign one player the summer TFF believes the best bet would be Kylian Mbappe.
