Tottenham make breakthrough on major transfer – report

Tottenham have reportedly agreed a fee to bring the talented French winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou to the club.

Sky Sports reported today:

We understand the deal to take Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Marseille to Tottenham has been agreed.

The fee for the 21-year-old is said to be £10.9m.

While he has yet to play for the senior French international team Nkoudou, who was born in Versailles, has played at every youth level for his country and has 6 caps and 1 goal for the U21s.

The diminutive 5ft 8in winger played 40 times for Nantes between 2013-2015 before moving to Marseille at the beggining of last season. But such has been his form that Tottenham have seemingly decided to snap him up before other teams get their dirty mitts on his talent.

Tottenham have done some interesting business this summer but TFF always gauges signings by their likelihood to stroll straight into the first eleven.

While Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen are solid signings, neither can be confident of being immediately considered first-choice picks and the same could be said of Nkoudou. He will have to fight it out with the likes of Erik Lamela, Nacer Chadli, Dele Alli, Son Heung-min, Moussa Dembele and Christian Eriksen for the creative positions behind Harry Kane.

Nkoudou has scored 13 goals in 81 club games in his formative career in France.

Let’s see him in action. Tottenham fans: will he get into the first XI?
