Tottenham set to snatch top forward and second striker linked – reports

Tottenham look as if they are ramping up their summer transfer business with progress looking assured on one deal and another still in the offing, according to reports.

Crystal Palace’s huge bid for Michy Batshuayi looks set to be for nothing as the player wants a move to Tottenham this summer.

The Daily Mail reports:

Tottenham Hotspur set to win race for Michy Batshuayi despite Crystal Palace having £31m bid accepted by Marseille

The 22-year-old Belgium international, with 6 caps and 3 goals to his name already, has been a revelation in his two seasons at Marseille scoring 33 goals in 78 games in total and 23 in 50 in his last campaign.

The 5ft 11in forward has been attracting interest from all over Europe but it looks as if Mauricio Pochettino is about to go all in on this one.

But that won’t necessarily put paid to a move for another forward, Antonio Sanabria, of Roma. The 20 year-old Paraguay international (also with 6 caps for his country) has also been interesting Tottenham.

Sanabria raised his profile no end whilst on loan at Sporting Gijon last season where he scored 11 goals in 31 games in Portugal.

Spurs have good attacking options already but the twin challenges of Champions League and The Premier League will put a unique pressure on the Londoners next season.

They will of course want to take the biggest club competition in the world seriously, having not been in The Champions League for a few years. But they will, at the same time, be weary of the need to once more finish in the top four if their progress under Mauricio Pochettino is to continue.

Here are some of Michy Batshuayi’s best moments in his early career. He looks like a real handful.
