Tottenham confident of deal for jet-heeled forward

When stories like this run and run we can regularly draw the conclusion that there is substance to the hype.

Tottenham reportedly showed genuine interest in Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha in the January fenetre and the latest news suggests that Mauricio Pochettino not only remains keen but is confident of landing the player for big bucks in the next transfer window.

The Daily Mirror reports:

Tottenham confident Wilfried Zaha transfer from Crystal Palace will finally happen this summer

TFF has never been completely convinced by the player and would be apprehensive about paying the sort of money being mooted for a winger who doesn’t always have the final ball.

But one quality that the Tottenham boss surely likes is the athleticism of the player. He seems to effortlessly glide through the physical demands of the Premier League and never stops running. There is most definitely technical talent there too and if Pochettino can add consistency and a bit more direction to the game of Zaha then he could have a fine player on his hands.

The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international returned to Crystal Palace in 2015 from Manchester United and has since played 104 games and scored 14 goals.

Tottenham fans: is this one that you would pursue or would £30m be better spent elsewhere?
