Deal Off: One transfer Tottenham won’t be completing this month – report

Tottenham’s move for Wilfried Zaha will come to an unsuccessful end according to latest reports.

Stories emerged over the last few days that Tottenham lodged a £12m bid for the ex-Manchester United winger and rumours suggested a second bid had gone in.

But, whether or not a new bid goes in Crystal Palace are said to be minded to rebuff any further approach and keep the player for now at least.

TFF has to admit some surprise that Tottenham went for the player in the first place. He wasn’t given a fair crack of the whip at Manchester United despite some promising signs early in his time at Old Trafford.

And some believe that so much of the good work that Zaha does goes unnoticed as he creates space for others by dragging opponents out of position and generally unsettling defences.

But the bottom line is that his stats are mediocre at best.

He’s scored 9 goals in 82 games since he’s been back at Palace. But we wonder whether many Spurs fans would name him in the strongest XI should he sign.

Zaha would be a decent and energetic squad member for many a team but we question the consistency of his end product and his general unpredictability.

Let’s have a look at some of his career highlights. Tottenham fans: a decent addition or just another squad member who isn’t noticeably better than Nacer Chadli?
