Tottenham’s next signing?

One of the few aspects of Mauricio Pochettino’s time at Tottenham which has been arguably less than top notch is his history of acquisitions.

He has made some superb signings but also some mediocre ones and this summer could prove to be crucial to his time at Tottenham.

We want to see a really convincing window in the transfer market for Tottenham so they can push on next season and genuinely challenge for the title.

And latest reports in the media suggest that they are looking to reinforce their defensive ranks with possible departures on the cards this summer.

British media outlet, The London Evening Standard, reports:

Tottenham target Ajax defender Joel Veltman for £8million transfer

The 25-year-old is an adaptable and high quality defender who has made 16 appearances for the Netherlands and scored two goals since his debut in 2013.

He is an equally competent player at right back or in the centre of defence and would probably be more likely to play on that right side for Tottenham who may well sell Kyle Walker this summer.

Veltman has played for five seasons for Ajax and amassed 165 games and eight goals in that time.

The always? Some are players making the leap from the Dutch league to England successfully. But TFF believe that this is a playing good definitely step up to the rigours of the Premier league. He strong, tough and quick and he thinks on his feet with a genuine football brain.
