Wenger spotted in France as Arsenal close to agreeing deal for winger – reports

TFF senses Arsene Wenger was probably as close to leaving the club this summer as he has been at any time during his Arsenal career. With pressure heaping on his shoulders and Arsenal falling out of the top four, the FA Cup win over Chelsea possibly saved him from an ignominious exit from the club.

And, perhaps aware of this, Wenger might be tempted to push the boat out in terms of transfers and spend this summer.

To that end The Mirror reported yesterday that the Arsenal manager was spotted in Nice as links continue to surface about a possible move for the brilliant Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.

That would obviously be a sensational capture and assuage pretty much every fan of Arsenal. But closer to home latest reports suggest that the club are close to agreeing a new deal for their superb England winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

British media outlet, The Telegraph, reports:

Arsenal close to new deal with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and are keeping Kylian Mbappe chase alive

The England winger hasn’t always been in the first-team picture but has been at the club since 2011 and racked up 20 goals in 194 games for the Gunners. His last season was his most prolific with six goals in 45 games and he looks to be adding composure to that raw talent at the age of 23.

If Arsenal don’t want him there will be a clutch of other clubs who are interested and we think that he ticks most of the boxes for a modern Premier League winger. He’s fast, powerful and athletic. And we believe Arsenal have underused him.
