Who could Guardiola bring to United?

Like Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola seems to have excluded himself from the running for the next Manchester United manager with Louis van Gaal the hot favourite amongst the media for the job.

‘I signed for three years. I still have work to do in Germany’ said Guardiola last week.

But the Manchester Evening News suggested last week that he will be on the shortlist anyway.

The Spaniard turned Barcelona into the best club side of all time for our money and he’s done a brilliant job in Munich also.

Perhaps now is not the time for him to join Manchester United – but if he did come which players could he bring with him?

Arjen Robben – by far the best player at Bayern Munich and, at 30 years of age, is on top of his game. Manchester United have a desperate need for some quality out wide if they are going to continue with their 4-4-2 formation. And who better in the medium term than this guy? He’s frighteningly good.

Alexis Sanchez – Barcelona will not want to lose heir star players over the next year. But the players seem to love playing for Guardiola and the Spaniard would surely be interested in a couple of Barca players if he took the reigns at Manchester United.

Sanchez hasn’t quite done the business at Barcelona but has just had one of his better seasons. He is full of pace and power – he would suit Manchester United down to the ground.

Dante – Manchester United have been linked with the big centre back in the past and, although we are his biggest fans, he seems to be highly rated around Europe and the world.

Manchester United may well invest in a big presence for the defence over the next year and we wouldn’t completely discount this guy coming in.
