Will Diego Costa Chelsea the title?

We must to take every bit of newspaper hype with a pinch of salt of course. The only people that really know what’s going on between Chelsea and Diego Costa right now are the club and player himself.

But as most Chelsea fans will know, recent reports have suggested that there is a stand off between the club and the player because Costa apparently fancies a move to China and the ridiculous money which is that an offer there.

The Daily Mail reports today that the player made to train alone as the spat between manager and superstar continues. They also report that Roman Abramovich has told the pair to solve their issues pronto and that the player will not be allowed to leave the club this winter. The same source also suggests that the laws on bringing foreign stars to the mega rich Chinese league will be tightened which will close the door on a potential departure.

Everything has been going so brilliantly for Chelsea that it was hard to see how anybody could stop them this season. But if Costa does decide not to play to his top level this could be the main fly in the ointment come the end of the season.

He has always been a mysterious character and not always the darling of the Chelsea fans. But his class is impossible to refute and he’s been the spearhead of Chelsea’s success this season with 14 goals in just 21 appearances.

But the money on offer from China is staggering and completely dwarfing that which the previously preeminent English league could offer. It will be fascinating to see whether the Asian league can really challenge the European leagues over the next decade and whether a new competition will spring up from this newfound wealth of Chinese football.

As for the present TFF thinks the Chelsea fans should remain fairly confident that the player will be theirs for the rest of the season at least and that can only help their compelling title challenge.
