Report: Superstar to commit to Manchester United?

Sources close to Manchester United superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic have implied that the Swede is prepared to extend his stay at Old Trafford by not just one but two seasons.

That’s according to the Daily Mail who write:

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is prepared to stay at Manchester United until 2019.

Sources close to Ibrahimovic say he would be willing to stay beyond next season

The Manchester United number 9 raised some eyebrows when he joined the club in the summer. Many suspected that he was too old for the leap into the fastest league in Europe.

But he has made a mockery of any criticisms by scoring 26 goals this term making him the top scorer in England in all competitions.

He started slowly and had a barren spell in the early autumn but he has quickly got to grips with the Premier League and now cruises around games making vital contributions as the talisman and game-changer that he irrefutably is.

With all this in mind, it is still difficult to imagine him starting every game for Manchester United at the grand old age of 37.

If a player like Antoine Griezmann was signed by Manchester United in the summer then the Frenchman would either have to play wide or Zlatan may have to get used to a lot more time on the bench.

But with wages in excess of £250,000 per week United would be unlikely to sanction a contract extension unless they had serious plans to keep playing the Swedish legend.

United fans: can Zlatan make a big contribution next season iris it time for Griezmann?
