Prime Target: Will this be Manchester City’s main summer signing?

Manchester City fans will have been excited by the sound bites of manager Pep Guardiola this week when he said that the club will be wading in to the transfer market in a serious fashion this summer.

British media outlet, The Manchester Evening News, reports that Pep will make Alexis Sanchez his main target:

Pep Guardiola has prepared Manchester City for a huge summer spend – with Alexis Sanchez a prime target.

Ahead of a spree that could stretch to £200m, the Catalan confirmed: “We have a lot of business to do.”

The worrying thing for Arsenal fans is that any top player with ambition would have to seriously consider an offer from a club like Manchester City. Unlike the Gunners they are a team capable of winning serial silverware at home and abroad.

Pep will seriously strengthen Manchester City this summer and with the addition of a couple of younger full backs they will be an even more powerful side next season.

The addition of Sanchez would also leave further question marks over the future of Sergio Aguero. The number nine has been perceived as lacking mobility, despite his unbelievable ability in front of goal and Sanchez could slot in through the centre or be equally devastating on the wing.

Whatever position he was to occupy it’s difficult to imagine Manchester City keeping all of their current roster of forwards if the Chilean did come in.

Sanchez has scored 64 in 134 games for Arsenal over the last three seasons, including 22 in just 40 games from a more central position this term.

Manchester City fans: is there a better potentially available player out there right now than Sanchez?
