Chelsea: £70m summer signings mooted

Chelsea look very close to the title now and will soon be able to start planning for their assault on the Champions League.

And reports in the British press in the latest news cycle suggest that they could move for two top talents in a big money swoop.

British media outlet, the Sun, reports:

Chelsea chasing Roma pair Radja Nainggolan and Antonio Rudiger in £70million double summer swoop

Both have been linked with moves to Chelsea in the past and both seem a good fit for the powerful and athletic teams that head coach Antonio Conte seems to favour.

Rudiger is a 6ft 3in German international who has 12 caps for Germany and has the ability to play at centre back or in the full back roles.

As such he could play in various positions in Conte’s 3-4-3 formation and would be a definite upgrade on Chelsea’s current squad. And he has his best years ahead of him.

As for Nainggolan he’s a brilliant midfielder who covers almost as much of the pitch as N’Golo Kante and also has a stunning long range shot on him. At 29 he still has some years left in him at the top level and if the offer was solid you would have to imagine that he would be attracted by a final huge contract and the opportunity to play with Chelsea in the Premier League alongside international team mate Eden Hazard.

Chelsea fans: would he be a top addition or is Nainggolan too similar to Kante for them to form an effective partnership in the midfield?
