Report: Conte’s first signing at Chelsea?

Chelsea’s new boss Antonio Conte wants to make veteran right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner his first signing for the Stamford Bridge outfit, according the British tabloid The Sun:

ANTONIO CONTE wants to raid his old club and make £12million-rated Stephan Lichtsteiner his first signing at Chelsea.

The 32-year-old is reportedly rated at £12m and will make way at Juventus for the Barcelona legend Dani Alves this summer.

The Swiss international, who has 81 caps and five goals for his country, has played with great consistency in Italy since signing for Lazio in 2008.

He played 115 games for them before moving to Juventus in 2011 where he has been an ever-present at right-back when fit for a side which has won 5 Serie A titles on the bounce, as well as competing the Champions League final in 2015.

Chelsea have decent cover at right-back with Ivanovic and Azpilicueta. But while the former looked really patchy at times last season Cesar has spent most of his Chelsea career on the left.

Lichtsteiner may not be seen as the most exciting Chelsea signing and at 32 he may be shocked by the speed of The Premier League. But he has been one of those players in Italy who rarely gives anything less than a 7 out of 10 performance.

Let’s see some of his best moments for club and country. Chelsea fans: an underwhelming potential addition or a vital cog in the Conte machine?
