Reports in the French media over the last few days have suggested that a sensational move for Angel di Maria could be on the cards for Barcelona.

The Catalan club are looking for someone to replace rumoured Arsenal target Arda Turan and the Spanish side want to use his relationship with Lionel Messi to lure the former Real Madrid midfielder to Barca. (Le Parisien)
The Argentine of course played for Real Madrid for several seasons and was a relative success at the club before Manchester United made a huge £60 million move for him in 2015.
To the eternal frustration of Manchester United fans everywhere Louis van Gaal didn’t play Di Maria on a regular basis and the winger eventually decided that he wanted to leave the club after just one season.
But he still regularly demonstrated his value to the club and made a difference to the front line in terms of penetration and speed of play.
And he’s been a sensation of Paris St. Germain where he has scored 28 goals in just 85 games for the club. He seems to have added composure to his raw talent over the last few years and we believe that he would be an excellent signing for Barcelona if they want to improve the front line going forward.
Quite where he would fit into the team is open to debate although perhaps Luis Suarez is the most likely to make away if Barcelona wanted to change their attack somewhat.
Suarez has been excellent again this season but he is now in his 30s and hasn’t quite got the pace that he used to have. And Di Maria would certainly add strength to the squad in general.
