Manchester United: £300,000 per week, 5 year contract reported

That’s the latest on Paul Pogba to Manchester United as The Daily Mail reveals:

Contact has been made between the clubs over the 23-year-old Frenchman and Sportsmail can reveal that United are prepared to pay him £300,000 a week on a five-year contract.

The transfer fee itself would also be a world record at £100m according to the same source.

In years gone by we would surely expect Manchester United to lose out to a club like Real Madrid in such a move. But the allure of Jose Mourinho, twinned with his excellent transfer business for Manchester United so far, gives everyone a little more hope that this deal could actually come off.

And even Thierry Henry would welcome the move to the arch-rivals of his old club Arsenal. He told Sky Sports:

‘he can be one of the best midfielders in history’.

“Hopefully he can come back to the Premier League – it would be great for us and for whoever got him but he’s still a Juve player and they’re not going to let him go (easily).”

TFF still thinks that Real Madrid may eventually pull their fingers out on this one but it’s not as if there aren’t other players of interest out there for the Spanish giants. Valencia’s Andre Gomes seems to be the subject of a lot of speculation right now.

Hopefully it can be resolved one way or the other for Manchester United pretty soon so that, if the deal fails, Mourinho has time to assess his options and go again.

Let’s have a look at Pogba in action for Juventus.

Manchester United supporters – are you more optimistic than ever about the club signing Paul Pogba or is this a classic deal that is destined to fail?
