Manchester United offer 52m Euro for forward – report

Manchester United will be prioritising the forward line this summer as they look to spread the goals around the team and quite simply score more of them next term in the league and the Champions League.

And a very tasty looking winger has been the subject of transfer speculation over the last few days.

Reports today suggest that Jose Mourinho has given the green light on a deal for an experienced winger.

Italian media outlet, Gazetta Dello Sport, reckons that Manchester United are closing in on a deal to bring the brilliant Ivan Perisic to Old Trafford:

Inter: Perisic, lo United spinge: ecco 52 milioni

Inter: Perisic, United pushes: here’s 52 million

And Sky Sports reports:

Manchester United are closing in on a £45.3m deal to sign Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic. Having missed out on Europe with a seventh-place finish in Serie A, the Italian club need to sell in order to balance the books. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

The 28-year-old Croatia international who has represented his country 56 times and scored 16 goals in the process has been a revelation for Inter since his transfer in 2015 with 20 goals in 79 games over two highly successful seasons at the club.

He reminds TFF of Arjen Robben in the way that he is left-footed, so precise with the ball and has a genuinely clever football brain. He is so composed in the area and is the master of the assist as well as chipping in with a fair amount of goals at a ratio of one in every four games while in Italy.

He moved to Italy after four years at Wolfsburg Germany where he was similarly successful playing 88 times scoring 21 goals. He may be coming towards the end of his career but he still has one huge contract left in him and perhaps four years at the very top.

Manchester United fans – would you be happy with this acquisition or would you rather sign a player with more sell on value and a couple of contracts left in him.
