Pogba prioritised: Mourinho confident of marquee signing and has money to break world record but Manchester United may miss out on Frenchman – report

An interesting story coming out of Manchester as the Manchester Evening news states that Manchester United are confident of making a marquee purchase this summer.

The MEN says:

Man Utd have the money to break the world record for a transfer and Jose Mourinho reckons they will make one major signing.

Mourinho has prioritised signing Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba to the extent he vetoed a move for Miralem Pjanic

The Pogba line is interesting. TFFs received wisdom on this is that his move to Real Madrid is far more likely than to any other club and it seems that a deal is being negotiated between the clubs at this point.

And the report does point out Manchester United aren’t confident that a deal for Pogba can be done.

And when you look around the world of football there aren’t too many world superstars who could be easily dislodged from their clubs.

Gareth Bale looks happy and loved by Real Madrid again. And Cristiano Ronaldo may not fancy working for Jose Mourinho again any time soon.

So perhaps if Manchester United are to succeed in the attempts to bring an A-lister to Old Trafford then Neymar could be their most gettable superstar.

The BBC reported earlier this year that Manchester United had talks with the brilliant Barcelona forward Neymar and speculation will continue to surround his future until a new contract is signed.

The 24-year-old has been a revelation for club and country and would certainly add attacking prowess and invention to the Manchester United attack.

Let’s see his best moments. Manchester United supporters – is it a doable deal considering United’s omission from The Champions Legaue next season?
